We have rounded up some of the best events that will be happening around Dublin this month. There’s a little bit of everything, from festivals to history and everything in between.

Dublinia

When: Year-round.

Where: Christ Church, at the crossroads of St Michael’s Hill, Patrick Street and High Street, Dublin City Centre. 

Price: Adults €9.50, student/senior €8.50, kids cost just €6 while the family can go for €25 (two adults and two children)

Why not bring your own little Vikings to learn all about the clans of the past and even meet some real life Vikings! Plenty of them ran the streets of Dublin in the past and here, a few of them are still about to teach us all about how they lived in Medieval times.

Imaginosity

When: Year-round.

Where: The Plaza, Beacon Square Corner, Sandyford.

Price: Tickets are €2 for babies (6-12 months); €6 for toddlers (1-2 years); €8 children (3+ years); €8 for adults.

Perfect for a rainy day, Imaginosity is highly interactive and encourages children to get active and creative. There are different exhibits all featuring different themes.

For example, the exhibit on level one is built like a small town where everything in child-sized. This way, kids can interact with a setting that is somewhat familiar to them but explore it in a different way. There is also a huge climbing frame that has loads of parts to discover. Imaginosity recommends booking in advance as it often gets very busy. 

Wild Lights

When: Thursday 1 November to Sunday 6 January.

Where: Dublin Zoo

Price: €20 for adults, €15 for children (kids under 3 go free but they still need a ticket so make sure to include them in the booking, and €16 for students and senior citizens

Dublin Zoo’s Wild Lights are back and this year they’re destined to be better than ever with their Ocean of Light and Winter Wonderland themes. If you haven’t experienced the Wild Lights before, this is an absolute must-see event. Dublin Zoo get lit up with silk lanterns depicting various animals and other wildlife. The event takes place at night to create as magical an atmosphere as possible and it is always a truly wondrous sight.

This event is perfect for people of all ages and kids absolutely adore it. Make sure to book this event soon though because tickets always fly out the window.

The National Wax Museum

When: Year-round.

Where: Dublin.

Price: Book online with tickets from €15 per adult; €10 for children or a family pass for €39.

Three floors of interactive exhibitions; a maze; climbing wall; cinema wall and an eccentric collection of waxworks that include everything from Star Wars to Father Ted. Kids can explore a tunnel of four worlds; meet The Simpsons or hop on Harry Potter’s Nimbus 3000. Irish history is made thrilling with Viking warriors and legendary figures, or descend into the basement for a good fright in the Chamber Of Horrors.
