Treat yo’self.

We know it can be hard to get away from the noise and stresses of everyday life. And especially when you’ve got a family, it sometimes seems that your time-out options are pretty limited.

Fear not, however!

Ireland is filled with destinations that are perfect for a break away with the family. These spots will leave you feeling relaxed and de-stressed as well as letting you get those precious hours of fun in with the kids.

Here are four particularly stunning spots that come highly-recommended…

1. Glendalough, Co Wicklow

A recent study by Celtic Pure Irish Spring Water cited Glendalough as one of the “purest” places in Ireland… and we have to agree.

This beautiful Wicklow spot is full of walks of different lengths and difficulties – meaning whether you have smallies or teens, there will be excursions to suit everyone.

The hikes through the woods have enough mini hills and fallen-over trees to keep climbing-keen kids occupied while you can enjoy the strolls and views of the two beautiful lakes.

Grab a picnic for the family to eat while you enjoy the pure vibes; make some sambos and bring plenty of water to keep yourselves hydrated on the walks.

Celtic Pure Irish Spring Water‘s new Hint of Fruit range is a great alternative to juice or fizzy drinks that gives you a refreshing fruity taste but with no added sugar and no artificial sweeteners.

Their kids range bottles are perfect for slipping into picnic bags to have on the go. They come in apple & blackcurrant; strawberry & watermelon; and lemon & lime – enough to keep everyone satisfied.

2. Dingle, Co Kerry

And in the same research, Irish people also voted the Dingle Peninsula the second purest place in Ireland.

This absolutely breathtaking spot is home to Ireland’s second largest mountain peak. The peninsula also has everything you could want from a coastal destination – cliff walks, amazing sea views, and sandy beaches.

Brandon Bay and Inch Beach are two of the best surfing spots in Ireland so if you or the kids are feeling brave, why not book a lesson?

Either way, this trip has oodles of fresh, sea air to leave you feeling rejuvenated and pure.

3. Powerscourt Gardens, Co Wicklow

These beautifully grand gardens have been a favourite destination for families for years – and it’s easy to see why.

With a mix of formal gardens, lakes, and woods, it’s the perfect place in rain or shine.

And while Irish people voted these Wicklow gardens the second most romantic place in the country – we reckon it’s ideal for families too.

The spot is home to the tallest waterfall in Ireland, for example, an attraction you reach by taking a short walk through the woods. And if the weather is nice, the waterfall lands in a shallow river that the kids love to jump around. Otherwise, for a drier activity, there’s the playground.

4. The Aran Islands,  Co Galway

Another of the country’s Celtic Pure Irish Spring Water’s purest spots – the Aran Islands have furthermore been cited by National Geographic as ‘miraculous’ and one of the world’s ‘top island destinations’. The islands are made up of Inis Mor, Inis Meain, and Inis Oirr – on Inis Mor, for example, you can take in the fort of Dun Aonghasa, which is set on 100-metre cliffs and is a World Heritage site.

Otherwise, Inis Meain (it has a population of just 200), is the quietest of the islands. Inis Oirr is the smallest of the trio and retains a real fishing village vibe.

The Aran Islands are located in the middle of the Wild Atlantic Way and are reached by ferry from Rossaveal or Doolin. There is also a small flight service.

Suffice to say that you’ll feel delightfully worlds away from the hustle and bustle of daily family life, and you’ll be making real childhood memories that will last your kids for a very long time.

So there you have it! Four great places to get your family out and about. Make the most of the autumnal days while they last by exploring Ireland’s outdoors and keeping the kids active.

Just make sure to slip a few Celtic Pure Irish Spring Water Hint of Fruit bottles in the bag to keep them and you hydrated.
