‘Please stop growing up’: David Beckham shares sweet message as Harper turns 8

Anna O'Rourke

Ahhh.

There’s nothing quite as pure as the love between a father and his daughter – and doting dad David Beckham clearly has a soft spot for his little one, Harper.

She turns eight today and David has shared a very sweet post to mark the occasion.

He took to Instagram to wish Harper a happy birthday, writing that her smile melts his heart and that, like all parents, he wishes that she’d stop growing up.

“What more can daddy say other than I love you so much little girl and please stop growing up,” he captioned a photograph of the two together.

“Happy Birthday to my pretty lady… Your smile melts all our hearts.”

His wife Victoria also posted a birthday tribute to her on her Instagram story, sharing a photo of herself, Harper and older son Romeo.

Each of the Beckham brothers shared photos of their little sister to wish her the best today too.

Overall, it’s a pretty good time to be Harper Beckham.

Her eighth birthday comes shortly after she was named among Britain’s most socially powerful people – ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Ranking her above her own parents on its Social Power Index, society bible Tatler magazine described Harper as a “front-row fixture” who “jets between Los Angeles, London and the Cotswolds”.

Not bad for someone who wasn’t even alive when Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ first hit the charts. Really.
