This ‘harsh’ daycare note to parents is receiving massive praise

It's been shared over a million times this week.

Do you think this is fair?

A note on the door of an American daycare is getting a lot of attention for its’ blunt nature.

A Houston daycare centre shared a note on the door asking (or maybe demanding) that parents put down their phones.

The note reads:

”You are picking up your child! GET OFF YOUR PHONE!!!

Your child is happy to see you, are you happy to see your child?

We have seen children trying to hand their parents the work they completed and the parent is on the phone.

We have heard a child say ‘Mommy, mommy, mommy… and the parent is paying more attention to their phone that their own child. This is appalling. Get off your phone!”

With technology being such a huge part of our lives these days, no one is exempt from getting a little addicted to their smartphones.

When it comes to seeing your child after a day in childcare or when they are showing you work they have proudly done, perhaps it’s important to remind yourself to put away your phone, because at this stage, it may not be second nature.

Though the note at this daycare is very blunt, it’s something over a million people seem to agree on.

Juliana Farris Mazurkewicz, who is a mother, shared this note on Facebook and it has gotten a massive reaction.

1.3 million people have shared the note over the week and more than 10 thousand people have commented on the post.

The vast majority of the commenters agree with the note but others have pointed out that it’s quite ironic that we are all discussing it on social media.

While it’s perfectly fine to have a browse through the internet each day, it’s important not to let it consume you, which is hopefully where we can all find a happy medium.
