If you’ve ever had the cheek to comment on a newborn’s looks then you probably have been scolded by a friend who chirped the obligatory ‘all babies are beautiful.’
While this may not always be the case, we believed that a parent’s love would surely conquer all.
However, a Chinese man by the name of Jian Feng did not feel unconditional love for his newborn daughter and sued his ex-wife for producing ugly offspring.
According to a report in The Irish Examiner, Jian did not believe that the child could be the daughter of him and his ‘beautiful wife’, and accused his partner of having an affair with a much uglier man.
Jian said: "I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first daughter, we began having marital issues. Our daughter was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me."

Jian's wife: before and after plastic surgery
Shockingly Jian won the case and was awarded €92,000 from his wife even though DNA tests proved that the child was indeed his.
During the course of the trial it emerged that Jian’s wife secretly underwent many plastic surgery procedures in South Korea before meeting him and a judge agreed that she tricked him into marrying her under false pretenses.
Mr Feng, being the looker that he is, has not released a photograph of himself to the press, but we’re pretty sure he’s not a man who looks for personality in a partner (or a sprog).
