Tales are told around the world of the infamous relationship between an Irish Mammy and her son, but we ladies know that the bond between Dad and daughter is every bit as special and strong.
So, we may have gotten a little something in our eyes this afternoon when we watched this gorgeous video.
Rory O’Donovan, a videographer from Limerick, put together this six-minute tribute to his darling daughter Ciara to mark her 21st birthday this week.
Set to a soundtrack of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, famously written about the birth of Wonder’s own daughter, and Maurice Chevalier’s ‘Thank Heaven for Little Girls’, Ciara’s doting dad includes clips of his baby from her Christening and right through her childhood.
The precious memories include a bath in the sink, (a staple of every Irish childhood), some DIY, a beloved baby doll, some amateur dramatics and a ridiculously cute bedtime story.
Watch out in particular for when she spots her dad behind the camera at about 1 minute 45 seconds in – adorable!
Rory posted the video online earlier today with these words:
“Clips of Ciara's childhood put together to celebrate her coming of age. What a gorgeous happy little girl she was and still is today. Love you loads, Mom & Dad xxx”
Happy birthday Ciara, anyone near and dear to you will have a hard task to top this gift!
