Vlogging couple Sam and Nia Rader hit the headlines last week for one of the more unusual pregnancy announcements we’ve seen of late – with Sam surprising Nia with the news that she was pregnant.
Sam, 29, recorded a video of himself telling wife Nia, 26, that she was expecting. He had carried out a pregnancy test when Nia failed to flush the toilet after a visit to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Less than a week later, though, the Texan vloggers shared a heartbreaking update with their many fans. The couple have suffered a miscarriage and lost their baby.
In an emotional video, which has already been viewed almost half a million times, Nia explains the feelings of loss and desperation the pair are going through. Sharing the video, they said:
“The emptiness and heartache that comes with a miscarriage came as a total shock and we are coping with this, but wanted to include you. There is a stigma regarding miscarriage that says we need to be alone in it and keep it private, but what happened is nothing less than losing a baby. The hurt and pain is real. It’s something that needs to be talked about and something that requires support from friends and family.”
