A woman who gave birth to a baby boy was sent home with a baby girl following a mistake made by the nurse.
The mother was unaware of the sex of her baby so left the hospital in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, without asking any questions.
The woman was sent home with the wrong baby.
Later that day she received a call from medical staff who explained that the nurse had gotten mixed up as there were two women with the same name in the ward.
Her brother, Daifullah Al Atawi, told Sabq newspaper: “After four hours, we received a call from the hospital and the police saying the nurse made a mistake because of the similarity n the names of two women.”
According to reports the director of the health department, Mohammed Al Tuwaei, has called for an investigation to determine what exactly happened.
