Heinz introduce ketchup, salad cream, and mayonnaise ice cream

Yes, you did read that correctly.

And no, you are not having a horrible dream – Heinz has indeed introduced a series of new ice cream flavours incorporating some of its most iconic sauces.

We’re talking ketchup ice cream, we’re talking salad cream ice cream, we’re even talking mayonnaise ice cream. Because why not? Anything goes these days, clearly.

Heinz has launched its new ‘Creamz’ recipes to mark National Ice Cream Month (July, obviously), meaning that you (yes, you) can create wild and wonderful saucy ice creams from the comfort of your own home with just four ingredients in under 15 minutes.

There’s even a couple of vegan Creamz recipes in there to keep the plant based among us happy.

So sit back, relax, and indulge yourself in three saucy Creamz recipes that are sure to make summer 2020 even more bizarre than it already is.

1. Heinz KetchUp Creamz 

You’ll need: 

• 200g double cream
• 170g condensed milk
• 70g whole milk
• 70g squeeze of Heinz ketchup
• Whisk or mixer
• Freezer safe bowl

Method:

1. Chill all of the ingredients in the fridge for at least an hour before starting. Add all of the ingredients to your mixer and combine them using the whisk attachment on the slowest setting. Alternatively, follow the same principles using a mixing bowl and an electric handheld whisk, or whisk by hand

2. Once all of the ingredients are combined, gradually increase the speed until you reach the fastest setting, whisk the ingredients as hard as you can.

3. Continue mixing until the mixture begins to form soft peaks (so when you turn your whisk upside down, the peaks are just starting to hold).

4. Gently pour the mixture into a freezer safe container. Leave to set in the freezer for a minimum of three hours.
