Our tummies are ready.

Big Grill is back, ladies and gents. For five wonderful years, Big Grill has been delighting our taste buds with a huge assortment of flame-cooked dishes. Now it’s back for its sixth year and it’s set to be a scorcher.

The food festival is popping up in Herbert Park in Ballsbridge from August 15-18 and, let us tell you, this lineup is looking sizzling. There will be a mix of both international and Irish cooking talent, all creating unique dishes.

There’s a catch, though – everything has to be cooked over a live charcoal and wood fire. No electricity, no gas, just the old reliable fire and smoke. You bet you can expect smells that will make your mouth water, and sights to impress too. Just imagine the crackling sound of that dinner cooking. We’re drooling already.

One of our favourite Irish chefs returning to the festival this is Grainne O’Keeffe. She is head chef at Clanbrassil House and culinary director of the BuJo burger joint. She was a huge hit with all the festival-goers last year so we are expecting BIG things with her return.

There will be oodles of delicious cuts for all the meat fans and for any non-meat eaters out there, don’t worry – there will be plenty of deliciously grilled veggie options at the park too. So no need to fear going hungry if you’re accompanying your meat-loving other half. One option is to head over to Lee Tiernan’s stall, where there will be mouth-watering Turkish-inspired kebabs and flatbreads (so yum!).

Other big names who will be making an appearance at the Big Grill festival are Neil Rankin and his Temper Soho head chef Martin Anderson, David Carter from Smokestak, live fire and BBQ expert Genevieve Taylor, Chef Jiyeon Lee along with Cody Taylor, Mike Johnson, Jess Murphy, Paul Flynn, Grainne O’Keefe and loads, loads more.

You will be absolutely STUFFED by the end of the day. There will also be plenty of refreshing craft beers to wash down all of your delicious dishes. You can quench your thirst on the likes of Franciscan Well, White Hag, Black Donkey, Wicklow Wolf, Porterhouse, Dingle Gin, Green Man Wines, and loads more.  Everything is going to taste so gooooooood.

If this sounds like something you and your tummy might enjoy, fill out the form below to be in with a chance of winning tickets to the event.

Even if you don’t win the prize, you can buy your own tickets on the Big Grill website. It’s only €30 for the whole weekend and if you’ve got some little ones in tow, Sunday is the perfect family day plus kids under 12 go free. Trust us, it’ll be worth it.

Happy eating, folks.
