There’s no better time to run, in our opinions. The air is cool, there’s less traffic, and you get to see your surroundings in a completely different light (literally).
Well, Night Run is back this year and it really is a marathon like no other – it doesn’t start until the sun has set. For any marathoners out there who want to mix things up a little bit, you’d be mad not to sign yourselves up for this.
The run is a 10 km marathon and takes place on Sunday, 28 April, at 9pm. It does a circuit of Dublin City Centre, with a good portion of the run taking you along by the Liffey. Sure it’ll only be beautiful.
There will be a group warm up for all the runners at 8:50pm, so make sure to get there on time!
If you want to take part in the run, you can sign up online. Tickets are €35 per person, or €32 per person if you sign up a group of 10 people or more.
However, to celebrate this year’s run, Night Run are giving away TWO free entries, as well as a night’s stay at Croke Park Hotel (Just a quick trip from the Night Run route – perfect!). PLUS they are also giving away a free cordless vacuum cleaner (worth €100!) by Beko, one of their partners for the event. This is sure to be a fantastic experience so we definitely suggest signing up even if you don’t win. This year, Night Run is partnering with the Seán Cox Rehabilitation Trust. Seán sustained serious and life altering injuries while attending a football game in Liverpool last year. The trust aims to raise funds needed for Seán’s ongoing and future care and rehabilitation. €5 from each entry fee will go directly to the trust, so whether or not you win free entry, it is such a worthwhile run to take part in.
