Almonds are exceptionally good for you, we promise we’re not nuts.

So now that we have the first bad nut related pun out of the way, we can get down to the details on why you should be adding almonds to your grocery shopping list.

Almonds are a great source of protein and fibre for the body. Packed with Vitamins E, they are a powerful antioxidant.

They also boast Vitamin B as well as calcium, potassium, zinc and folic acid, making them great for your heart, digestive system, and even the skin.

For those of you who are constantly on the go, snacking on a small handful of almonds will curb your hunger pangs without the high-sugar of alternative treats.

Almonds have also been proven to lower the rise in blood sugar and insulin after meals.

Start your day off with some almonds. Simply add a few to yoghurt or fruit for a healthy breakfast option or mid-morning snack. Roasting almonds with a little chilli is our favourite way to digest them, we promise that once you try this, you won’t eat them any other way!

Almonds work as the perfect substitute ingredient so if you’re feeling really adventurous why not try this Cinnamon Vanilla Almond Butter. Yes, it is as good as it sounds!
