Handy out.

Do you remember to take your pill?

If you don’t, you’ll probably be more than familiar with setting daily alarms, downloading apps, and setting constant reminders to tell yourself that no, you haven’t taken it yet, and yes, you’d probably want to hurry up and get on that.

People take the pill for lots of reasons.

To avoid getting pregnant, to regulate their periods, to make menstruation less awful, and to reduce skin conditions.

And now, a new gadget currently being crowdfunded could be about to make taking your pill a whole lot easier.

Popit (get it?) is a new product that doesn’t just set off an alarm when you’re meant to take your pill, it sets off an alarm when it knows you’ve forgotten to take your pill because it’s actually attached to your pill packet.

No, really.

The gadget attaches itself to your pill packet and sensors monitor whether you’ve taken your pill that day.

If you haven’t, Popit sends an alert to your phone reminding you to take it when you’re supposed to.

Missing a pill a day isn’t the only thing that increases your chances of becoming pregnant.

The likelihood can also increase if you tend to take your pill at different times throughout the day.

Popit seems to be pretty smart too as far as birth control gadgets go.

The device is compatible with the majority of standard pill packets and can actually tell when a pill has accidentally been knocked out of its pack as opposed to popped out by you.

Handy enough.

Popit is currently being crowdsourced on Indiegogo and can be pre-ordered here.
