Apparently there’s a lot of health benefits to oral sex (for both parties)

It should come as no surprise that your va-jay-jay is packed full of billions of bacteria. The scientific name for this genital ecosystem is the vaginal microbiome.

Your microbiome is a magical place and contains a species of Lactobacillus, which produces lactic acid and keep things at a pH level of 4.5 down there.

That’s all well and good but do you know where else is exists? In your gut. And in your gut, it’s known as probiotics.

Where have you heard that word before? Only on every health yogurt ad ever.

Probiotics are the deadly little bacteria that aid everything from digestion to allergies to eczema. Probiotics are being added to everything these days from yogurts to shampoo and shaving cream.

Now according to Broadly, there’s been no official studies on whether the probiotic found in the vagina has health benefits but it is likely.

For it to have effect, the bacteria would have to travel safely to the lower intestine (where good bacteria dwells) without being destroyed by stomach acid.

Furthermore, a significant amount of, em, Lactobacillus would have to ingested.

Dr. Mendes-Soares tells Broadly there are about 100,000 to 100 million Lactobacillus cells per gram of vaginal fluid. So an oral session to have probiotic properties, the performer would have to swallow between ten and 10,000 grams (10 kg) of vaginal fluid.

But hey, tell the significant other in your life that one thing is certain – probiotics only stay in your system if you’re regularly re-upping your supply. Like anything healthy in your diet regular consumption is recommended.
