Blogger shows the scales ‘do not matter’ as she gains weight while dropping four dress sizes

A blogger has shown that the scale “does not matter” by gaining weight while also dropping four dress sizes.

Fitness blogger Hannah began her “fitness journey” two years ago.

Since then, the 31-year-old has taken up cardio and strength training leading to her dropping four dress sizes – from a size 14 to a size 6.

However, Hannah also weighs 25 pounds, or almost two stone, more than she did two years ago.

The blogger shared some progress pictures to prove that if you exercise you can still be fit, and that “what the scale says does not matter.”

She wrote:

“I found the photo on the left, that’s me at the very beginning of my fitness journey a little over 2 years ago. I was super depressed and coping by eating my emotions.

“Fast forward to 2 years (…) and I’m 25 pounds heavier, fitter, and wear a size 6 versus a 14 (for those that care).”

Hannah said that she wanted to share the post as she had seen a lot of people feeling “down” about how much they weigh.

“What the scale says does not matter,” she wrote. “Take your measurements, take progress photos and stay consistent.”

The blogger also said that she knows her body isn’t perfect (“I love me some chips and salsa and Starbucks”), but that she loves it and that’s all she cares about.

Hannah was praised highly for her post, with many of her followers saying that they had always assumed that being fit meant losing weight, not putting it on.

However, with the positivity came the negativity as a few people took it upon themselves to say that Hannah “didn’t look like a size 6.”

So she decided to clear a few things up.

“I’m curious, what does a size 6 look like?” she wrote, “where does it say everyone that is a size 6 looks the same?”

“Here’s the deal, all body shapes are different and look different. Body composition is real. Just because someone doesn’t look like your idea of a size doesn’t mean they’re not that size.”
