Dunnes Stores launches super-affordable fitness collection with PT Karl Henry

The pandemic and lockdowns saw so many of us taking up a fitness routine at home.

Suddenly, back when it all kicked off, we found ourselves in the position that gyms were closed, as were yoga studios and swimming pools – and due to the restrictions on movement, some of us couldn’t even get to a park or a beach for walks or runs, even if we wanted to.

And so we started working out from home – both in an effort to keep up our fitness regime, but also, to many, to simply find a distraction from the solitude of working from home and staying away from everybody.

There was Zoom yoga, and online boot camps and Joe Wicks and many sports stores reported so many online orders they ended up selling out of things like kettle bells and skipping ropes. Working out at home became a thing – and by the looks of it, many of us are keeping it up, even now that restrictions are no more and reality has reassumed again.

The thing is – for many, buying the items you need to kick off a fitness regime or start a healthier lifestyle can sometimes be out of reach due to cost. Which is why Dunnes Stores, together with well-known Irish personal trainer Karl Henry, has launched a fitness and wellness collection designed to empower us to eat, live and move well – at prices we can all afford.

Well by Karl Henry x Dunnes Stores is an exclusive 13-piece wellness accessories collection, created by one of Ireland’s leading, and most recognised, personal trainers, Karl Henry, in collaboration with Dunnes Stores. The collection starts from €5 and includes everything needed for your wellness journey including weights, earbuds, a yoga mat and a portion control plate.

“I am passionate about what I do, empowering people to achieve their wellness goals, which is why I am so excited about the Well by Karl Henry range at Dunnes Stores,” Henry says.

“It is designed to empower people to eat, live and move well, in the hopes of them living a longer and happier life.”

For instance, these sports earbuds retail for just €30.

And this long foam roller is €25:

The Adjustable Desk (€100) has four different height levels to encourage movement during the working day, and the Digital Scales (€25) will give you a comprehensive review of your health by measuring not just weight, but muscle mass, fat mass, hydration, metabolic profiling and more.

Perfect for tracking food and fluid intake, along with energy levels, sleep patterns and mood, the Wellness Journal (€15) spans a three-month period and is packed with inspirational quotes, challenges, tips and opportunities to reflect.

And ideal for resistance training, the Neoprene 2pk weights (€10 – €20) come in several different weights, such as 1k, 2kg, 3kg and are designed to feel good in use.

We love the Portion Control Plate (€5) and the clever Lunch Box (€10), both of which will make healthy eating easy and practical.
