A new study has found that there is a specific time of the week when the majority of people binge on junk food.
That’s right, between 7.00pm and 10.00pm on a Sunday night is apparently the most tempting time of the week.
Sunday nights are when most people turn to chocolate and crisps.
The survey, which was conducted by diet supplementary company Forza, discovered that half of those asked said it was the time they were most likely to open the crisps and chocolate biscuits.
It also found that over two thirds of people are more likely to comfort eat after a stressful day at the office with less than 30 per cent being tempted between 3.00pm and 5.00pm.
Stressful days also have an impact on when and what we eat.
Speaking about the findings, Forza’s chief executive Lee Smith said: “Fat o’clock is a nightmare for all dieters. It’s when you are especially vulnerable and the only thing to stop your cravings is a padlock on the pantry.”
He added: “It is useful to know the times of those danger spots so people can eat more sensibly on those days.”
