The first case of the ebola strain that has infected parts of Western Africa has been confirmed in a patient in Dallas, Texas.
According to NBC News, the Centre For Disease Control has yet to confirm the case is in Dallas, but media reports understand that the patient is under strict isolation after being tested for the virus. A number of Dallas officials were believed to have also been copied on an email that announced the positive diagnosis.
The virus can only be spread through contact with an infected person's bodily fluids and isn't transmissible by air.
