The first thing to drink in the morning to get your metabolism going

Whether you had a good night’s sleep or not, getting your day off to a good start is the best way to ensure your body is ready for the day ahead.

But what should we be fuelling up on in the morning? While we’re a huge fan of coffee (and probably wouldn’t make it through the day without it) it’s not the exactly the best thing to drink immediately when you wake up.

According to pretty much every health expert ever, the first thing to touch our lips should be a glass of water.

As with most things, there’s no magic cure, or easy fix, just a simple glass of water first thing in the morning can do a whole lot more than all the lotions and potions in the world.

It is actually a form of water therapy and has been scientifically proven to remedy a number of body disorders.

A glass of water on an empty stomach can increase your metabolic rate by nearly 25 percent which then has a positive impact on your digestive system.

Drinking water also encourages your bowels to get moving and flush out the toxins that were building up from the day before.

It’s also great for your sky and hair, leaving your face glowing and hair looking shinier – win!
