Well, look no further. If you're living in County Dublin, Dún Laoghaire is a great place to escape to at the weekend. It's got everything you could possibly need, great food, great scenery and great pubs. Sure what more could you want? If you need a little more convincing here are 5 reasons you should visit Dún Laoghaire this Sunday. The view from East Pier is out of this world. If you're in the mood for a walk, take a stroll along Dún Laoghaire's East Pier. You'll pass the Victorian bandstand and get a great view of the boats in the harbour. Just think of the Instagrams you'll be able to get.

The Sunday market is fab Every Sunday there is a great market in People's Park (just a short stroll from the harbour). The market is open from 11am-4pm and has everything from arts and crafts to local produce. It's a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon wandering around the stalls with a coffee in hand.

The shopping is fantastic Dún Laoghaire has a great mix of family-run local shops as well as larger chain stores. They've got two shopping centres and tonnes of little artisan shops any design-lover would swoon over. No matter what you're looking for, you'll have it right at your fingertips.

It's a great place for a dip If you're brave enough that is! Dún Laoghaire is a well-known spot for open water swimmers. Hundreds of people take the plunge at the forty foot each year. Don't worry if you missed the annual swim on Christmas Day you can just go in January instead. Rather you than me.
