Grind your teeth in your sleep? This Irish-made pillow could fix that

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Every now and then, a product comes along that could’ve been plucked right from our dreams.

Imagine, for instance, a pillow with a wealth of incredible health benefits. It would gently hold your head in the perfect position as you doze, it would improve oxygen uptake and put a stop to snoring.

It would even provide a solution to that annoying teeth grinding that leaves you with a jaw ache when you’re stressed out.

Well wake up and smell the coffee, dreamers: the world’s most marvelous pillow is now a reality.

Designed by Cork neck and back pain specialist Noel O’Connor, the Reflex Pillow raised a whopping double his initial €40k Kickstarter target as insomniacs all over the world clambered to join the queue for the first orders.

Now Noel plans to take the Reflex Pillow global, branching into the USA, UK and further afield.

So how does it work?

Rectangular in shape with a flat base, what sets the Reflex apart from other pillows are the two head dips (hollows) and a ridge on the top side, which prevent head roll while you sleep. These head dips are for those who lie on their sides.

The middle ridge keeps your spine in its correct alignment while the front side of the pillow has a shoulder slot and neck support designed to fit your shoulder and cradle your neck.

Bliss.

So, what price for this magical piece of slumber apparatus? Well, at €89 it’s not exactly cheap, but we don’t know anyone who wouldn’t pay top dollar for a decent night’s kip. And if it can keep the doctor away into the bargain, it might even save you some cash in the long-run.
