Unlike ordinary honey, manuka honey contains powerful antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties, making it extremely effective in treating a wide variety of health conditions. Manuka honey has slowly become one of the favoured ways to treat certain wounds and ailments, particularly colds and flu.
There are several ways to consume manuka honey. It can replace traditional honey where possible in certain recipes, added into breakfast smoothies, or spread on toast. The easiest way however is the old fashioned honey and lemon hot drink, perfect for adults and kids.
