The Irish Cancer Society has been chosen as the official charity partner for the Great Limerick Run which will take place on Sunday 5th May in Limerick City, and they’re encouraging all those who are taking part to make the Irish Cancer Society their charity of choice for the run.
Irish Cancer Society`s National Campaigns Officer Liz Logan said, “The cancer challenge in Ireland is an enormous one. One in three of us will develop cancer during the course of our lifetime and this year alone it is estimated that 30,000 people will develop cancer. We must do everything we can to combat this disease and with this in mind, we have developed our Run4Life programme which encourages people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, to get regular exercise and to run to support our free cancer services.

The Irish Cancer Society, with the help of Limerick girl Aoife Hannon (Miss Universe Ireland 2011), appeal to runners to make every step count against cancer and join the Great Limerick Run.
“The Irish Cancer Society relies on the public`s goodwill and support to fundraise so the Society can provide its services for people with cancer and fund innovative cancer research programmes with cancer researchers across the country.
“We’re appealing to people all over the country to join the Great Limerick Run and support the work of the Society.”
Runners and walkers who register for the full marathon, half marathon or six mile run are encouraged to CallSave 1850 60 60 60 or email [email protected].
