This research reveals that if you're a college student from counties Clare, Kilkenny, Cork, Dublin or Waterford, you're more likely to drink more than your classmates from other colleges.
According to the survey, which was carried out on a group of 3,500 University College Dublin students, students from these counties drink, on average, more than 351 drinks a year.
The authors of the study examined self-reported alcohol consumption, Discover Magazine blog reports.
Participants answered questoins on their family background and their place of origin to help authors investigate any influences they might have on their drinking habits.
The results showed that students from the Republic of Ireland drank more, on average, than international students.
It was also noticed that boys who attended an all-boy's school or a boarding school went on to drink more than their mixed-sex education counterparts.
