A lot of people will squeeze spots even when they know they shouldn't because it usually doesn't help the situation and leads to infection and further breakouts. But just so tempting to resist. However, we should all try a little harder because it turns out that squeezing spots can be very serious and could even lead to death. Sounds bizarre but there's a specific reason for it. It's all down to where exactly the spot is on your face that you want to squeeze. According to The Independent, there is an area of your face called 'The Danger Triangle' which we need to be wary of when attacking spots. It goes from the upper mouth area up the bridge of the nose to between the eyes. When you target spots in this area, for instance at the corner of your mouth or the top of your nose, you are squeezing directly above blood vessels which are in a direct line with your brain. So if any infections develop in these areas they are at risk of going directly to the nerve centre. It is rare that a serious outcome will happen from picking spots in these areas but it's not completely out of the question either and can lead to issues such as vision loss, permanent paralysis or even death. So try and resist The Danger Triangle.
