This story may make you wince. A lot.
A man has had two pints of blood removed to bring down a 17-hour erection, as well as being subjected to 24 injections to stop blood flow to the penis.
Jason Garnett probably didn’t feel like his luck was in when last Friday he found his soldier would not stand down. After going to work at his job in a local hotel, Garnett became concerned when he was still experiencing a stiffness at lunchtime.
Self-help solutions included taking an ice bath and going for a jog, but when he was still confronted with himself eight hours later, he turned to him roommate for help.
Speaking to The Sun, Garnett:
“You should have seen the look on his face when I told him what was wrong. He was in hysterics at first, but then he realized how serious the situation was.”
Garnett was taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with priapism - rare condition where erections do not subside. It is not caused by sexual desire or stimulation, but, untreated, it can permanently damage the penis.
Garnett was left black and blue from the experience, one that he says felt like a horror film:
“Seeing them stab my penis with a needle was a horrible experience, like something out of a horror film. The pain was 10 out of 10.”
Garnett, and his penis, are now recovering.
