A new pop-up radio station promoting positive mental health will go on-air this Monday.

‘Upbeat On Air’ is the first Irish radio station dedicated to promoting positive mental health and will encourage people to seek support and professional advice at an early stage of their illness.

The station will be run by St Patrick’s Mental Health Services from Monday October 6th to Friday October 10th to mark Mental Health Awareness Week and will also announce ‘Ireland’s most upbeat song’ on Monday morning.

Members of the public have been nominating their favourite songs for over four weeks.

The station is Ireland’s first all-digital pop-up radio station and will be manned for its 70 hours on air by a host of celebrity presenters including Theresa Lowe and Alan Shortt, Shay Byrne and Alison Canavan, Paddy Cullivan, Ruth Scott, Eoghan McDermott, Geri Maye and Sheana Keane, Karina Buckley, and Nikki Hayes, as well as a whole host of guest appearances during the week.

Tune in to ‘Upbeat On Air’ on 99.5fm or online at www.upbeat.ie.
