New legislation surrounding the use of sunbeds comes into effect today.
The strict new rules aim to reduce the increased risk of skin cancer and other health problems associated with the use of the tanning devices.
The rules will see the abolishing of ‘happy hours’ and the free use of sunbeds. They also stipulate that protective eye wear must be worn at all times during the use of sunbeds.
The use of UV tanning devices has been described as ‘carcinogenic to humans’ by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
