Tidy up
Take five minutes to neaten up your desk or clear out your inbox. Mindless tasks like decluttering take very little concentration and leave you feeling more energised. Accomplishing something visible helps restore focus and you'll return to whatever you were doing beforehand with a renewed sense of productivity.
Play some music
Pop in your headphones and throw on some of your favourite tunes - keep a couple of playlists on standby that you know will give you a boost. Listening to music while working has long been proven to increase concentration and productivity.
Relax your brain
If you find your mind wandering and you can't concentrate on the simplest tasks, try listening to a short guided meditation. This simple exercise will help focus your thoughts and leave your brain feeling refreshed.
Take a tea break
When all else fails, head for the kettle with your office BFF, have the chats and and fix yourselves a cuppa. Green tea is a great option if you want something that will give you a boost but not keep you awake the whole night.
Stretch it out
If moving around the office or taking a break outside isn't an option, get creative and do some gentle exercise at your desk. Perform some simple stretches to loosen up any tight muscles around your neck, back and shoulders and flex and point your toes. These will help you tackle the rest of your tasks as you'll return to work feeling more energised and alert.
