Being inspired by someone can be the first step to success.
An insight into one successful Irish lady’s life could give you the pep in your step you’ve been looking for…
Every day this week we’ll be inspiring you with one Irish woman who’s known for her healthy lifestyle and her success in sport, in association with Avonmore Slimline Milk.
It’s a dive into the pool today as we’re inspired by Irish swimmer Bethany Firth.
The sixteen-year-old was born in Seaforde, County Down and represents Ireland in swimming.
Bethany, who’ll celebrate her seventeenth birthday on February 14th, competes in the S14 classification.
Last summer in London, Firth, who has learning difficulties, competed in her first Paralympics where she won a gold medal in the S14 100 metres backstroke final… after only swimming for three years.
Bethany can inspire you towards a healthier lifestyle and put the pep in your step with the following health and motivation tips for swimmers:

It practically works all the muscles in your body if you do a variety of strokes. It can develop a swimmer’s general strength, cardiovascular fitness and endurance.
2. Swimmers eat a diet full of energy-rich foods. Think oats, lentils, low fat yoghurt and fruit.
3. When hunger pangs hit during the day, make sure you snack on something substantial that will keep the pangs at bay. Think dried fruit, snack bars and smoothies.
Yesterday we were inspired by Annalise Murphy...
