Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s dermatologist shares the secret to saving chapped lips

Megan Roantree

We’ll definitely be trying this.

I’ve been suffering from ridiculously dry, chapped painful lips since I was in primary school, and have tried everything under the sun to fix it. From natural remedies like sugar and honey or coconut oil to over the counter options like Carmex, Vaseline and Burt’s Bees.

In my near 10 years of suffering from dry lips nothing has fixed them permanently but the two products that have worked best for me are Flexitol Lip Balm (impossible to find in Ireland) and Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Intensive Lip Balm. Although they don’t permanently heal my poor cracked lips they do soothe them better than anything else I’ve tried.

But I’m no expert…

Dr. Barbara Sturm, however, is an expert and dermatologist who’s products are used by actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Dr. Sturm recommends using your face serum on your lips. She adds that using face serum on your lips as well as all over your face before you go to bed is the best option as it will give the serum a chance to seep into your lips properly.

The dermatologist has her own brand of face serum which costs $300 so naturally, we won’t be giving her product a try, but if you have dry lips all year round or suffer from chapped winter lips, giving a face serum a go might be a good option.
