We can't imagine any of our ancestors who died in the famine complaining of this.
Getting a good selfie can be the most important part of an event for people - take
Kim Kardashian for example - who's probably the most famous selfie-taker of all.
Snapping the best-looking
selfie to post later on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter can be crucial and takes a lot of effort, leaving many of us (cringe) clicking for minutes until we're eventually happy.
However, it's emerged that
taking too many selfies can not only be detrimental to your
mental health but your physical health also - to your arms in particular.
According to
Elle, a medical condition called selfie elbow has come to light and it's been recognised by doctors everywhere.
Reportedly,
NBC journalist Hoda Kotb went to her doctor after experiencing pain in her elbow and was diagnosed with the condition.
"I went to the orthopedist and he said, 'Are you playing tennis or ping-pong?' And of course I'm not, so I told him I was taking selfies...
"When you take the picture, your arm is up, bent in a weird way and you just click, click, click—think about how many you take: 20, 30, or 40. Selfie elbow, everyone has it!"
Hoda's doctor recommended she ice her elbow and do specific exercises to help with the pain of her medical condition, all caused by apparently taking too many selfies.
Despite medical experts confirming reports of selfie elbow, people on Twitter were not impressed with the latest injury caused by technology.
For those of you who are dedicated to the cause of a selfie, a selfie stick is recommended to take the pressure off your elbow.
