Size Matters – Study Finds Length of Finger May Indicate Testicle Size

The findings could have implications on research into men's fertility

A study carried out by South Korean researchers has revealed that men with a longer ring finger than index finger on their right hand may have larger testicles.

The new research was carried out on 172 men aged between 20 to 69 years.

The study was undertaken by researchers from the Department of Urology at two hospitals in Korea. It showed that a longer ring finger on a man generally lead to larger testicles. On the other hand (or finger!), if a man’s index finger was longer than that of his ring finger, it was discovered that his testicles could possibly be smaller.

The study was taken on the 172 men when they were in hospital for urological surgery. The second and fourth fingers on their right hand were measured first, before a separate researcher came in and measured the testicular area to ensure independent results.

The findings could have implications on research into men’s fertility, as testicle size affects the volume of semen produced.

Meanwhile, no link was found between age, height and the size of a man’s testicles.
