This Spanish football team are causing a frenzy with their new “naked” kit

Blimey. Talk about revealing.

Football kits the world over are becoming more and more generic, with the bigger sports manufacturers choosing to work to set templates with just the smallest of alterations for each team’s uniform. So it’s always a welcome change when a major brand tries something new.

That said, we’re not sure what to make of Kappa’s effort for Club Deportivo Palencia’s new outfit for next season. The humble Castile-Leon side ply their trade in Tercera División – the fourth tier of Spanish football – but some would say their new shirts are plumbing new depths.

Seemingly taking their inspiration from Robbie Williams’ iconic video for 2000 hit ‘Rock DJ’, the strip is just that – an anatomically correct strip-down to the fleshy muscles of each player. The novel kit was revealed on Thursday night and it certainly got under the skin of those on social media…
