The latest results show buttock augmentations – which use grafts or fat injections from other parts of the body to build up the shape of the bum – has risen to 11,505 procedures in 2014 – a 15 per cent rise on 2013 bookings.
A breakdown of the stats shows buttock implants hit 1,863 – a 98 per cent increase from the year before, while buttock lifts reached 3,505 a 44 per cent jump on last year’s report.
Speaking about the results, Scot Glasberg, president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons said:
"The media effect, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, are having a phenomenal effect on what patients want, what they are coming in and asking for.
"It's a much better option than we had with implants.”
Men are also getting in on the act, with a new interest in pectoral implants seeing more than a thousand requests in 2014. This marked a 208 per cent rise from 2013.Explore more on these topics:
