This fruit can increase your chances of a good night’s sleep

Cathy Donohue

As those who suffer from insomnia will know, it can be very tough to manage.

Tossing and turning non-stop, checking the clock at all hours wondering how long more you have to get to sleep, the dread that kicks in around 8 pm wondering if you’ll manage to get any shut eye…it’s a total nightmare.

However, there are ways and means of dealing with it and although we’ve heard many of them before, (leave your phone in another room, stop using technology before sleep, keep your room a work-free zone), this latest tip is a revelation.

Apparently, regular consumption of kiwis can reduce the amount of time it takes to fall asleep by an astounding 35 percent.

Published in PubMed, the study showed that people who ate two kiwis, approximately one hour before bedtime for four weeks, found that they fell asleep quicker.

Not only that, their “total sleep time and sleep efficiency were significantly increased (13.4 percent and 5.41 percent).

To sum up, kiwis improved sleep quality while also helping those who participated in the study to nod off quicker and that’s before we even mention the fact that the fruit is packed with Vitamin C, a must for a healthy immune system.

This is one tip we’re definitely going to try for ourselves…
