Vicky was expecting the results of the scan to be worse.

Vicky Phelan has given her followers an update on her health after receiving recent scan results.

Taking to an IGTV video, the cervical cancer campaigner explained that she is debating whether or not to continue with the next round of clinical trials in the US.

Vicky explained that she had been waiting on scan results and expected them to be worse than what they were.

In her caption, she wrote: “The main points from my almost six-minute spiel are that my scan results are actually quite good considering that I had no treatment for two months.

“I had no new tumours and only one small increase in one of my existing tumours. Unfortunately, it is in the large tumour mass and not one of the small tumours.

“I have not yet made a decision on what treatment plan I am going to go on next. My gut is telling me NOT to start the new clinical trial at NIH for lots of reasons – It’s a Phase One trial so has not been tested on humans, there are currently NO other patients enrolled so I would be the first patient AND I don’t want to stay here for another six months away from my kids!”

She said: “I was expecting them to be worse, I thought I had new tumours, I thought tumours had grown because I hadn’t had treatment for two months.”

The scan showed that one tumour mass is circulating her aorta, which is a cause for concern. She said that she wishes it was “anywhere else”.

However, Vicky noted that it is increasing slowly, which she says is good news.

Additionally, Vicky spoke about the challenges of being away from her family, and added that it was harder to say goodbye to them before her latest trip to the US than it was the first time she left.
