This is the real reason the challenge started.

“Your newsfeed will go back to act videos and Frozen covers soon.”

Over the past week or so we’ve all seen more than our fair share of celebrities both local and international taking part in the so-called Ice Bucket Challenge. The movement started in America to raise funds and awareness for ALS.

Only 30,000 people in the US have ALS. Anthony Carbajal is one of them, and this is the one Ice Bucket Challenge you really should see. After taking part, Anthony shows the reality of living with the condition and caring for loved ones who do too.

This is a sobering does of reality, but it really does underline the importance of donating as well as participating. That’s the true power of a social media phenomenon.

In Ireland, fundraising efforts have been directed to the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association.

To make a €2 donation you can text MND to 50300, or you can simply make a donation on-line by clicking here.

Watch this one until the end, then do what you can to help.
