WATCH: Loyal Service Dog Comforts Owner with Asperger’s

The woman shared her video in an attempt to enlighten others on the struggle of living with Asperger's

Rebecca McKnight

Danielle Jacobs writes: “This is what having Asperger’s is like.”

Brave Danielle shared a video online of herself having what she says is considered a “meltdown”.

Danielle posted the video to show how much of a difference trained service animals can make to people living with disabilities such as hers. Samson is trained to alert to depressive episodes and self harm.

The candid and moving footages shows Jacobs sobbing and hitting herself repeatedly. Loyal pal Samson jumps on his hind legs to restrain his owner and when she moves to the ground he nuzzles in to comfort her.

The video has attracted over 2 million views since it was shared at the beginning of June and Danielle has since spoken of her deep appreciation for the overwhelmingly supportive commentary.
