We’re up for the challenge… are you?
Today the team at Her.ie announce that we are official online partners to the Irish Cancer Society for this year’s Flora Women’s Mini Marathon.
The Flora Women's Mini Marathon is the biggest all women's event of its kind in the world.
According to the official website, nearly 780,000 women have entered the event since its inception in 1983.
Of course everyone who enters is a winner in their own battle, but the big winners are really the charities that benefit from the proceeds. In 2011 it is estimated that almost €14m was raised by the participants bringing the total since the race started in 1983 close to €137m.
We can’t think of a more deserving charity than the Irish Cancer Society, so this year we’re pairing up with them to do our bit and raise what funds we can for the cause.
We’re creating The Pink Brigade for our first year of partnership with this great event, and we’d love for you to join us.
Whether you were already planning on running, walking or jogging the mini-marathon or not, we’d love for you to consider joining us and becoming part of The Pink Brigade. It won’t take any extra effort on your end, it just means we’ll be here with support and weekly emails full on inspiration and training tips.
There are some newbies taking part on Team Her.ie too, so if it’s all a bit intimidating don’t worry – we’re feeling the same way too!
To hear more about our plans, just round up some friends and family or join us solo! Send an email to [email protected] so we have an address to contact you at, and we’ll take it from there.
There’s no commitment involved yet, so get in touch and learn some more… then hopefully you’ll help us to run/walk/jog all over cancer with The Irish Cancer Society this June!
