A woman’s customer service experience has gone viral, after a restaurant told her to shut up and that she shouldn’t be eating – after she enquired about vegan options on their menu.
The woman, only known as April, messaged Oak Lawn, Illinois's SIP Appetizer Bar asking if they had vegan options on their menu. The response she got was not what she was expecting:

April, assuming the Facebook account had been hacked, decided to take action, and rang the restaurant directly, leaving voicemails each time. She then followed up with emails, but heard no response.
Speaking to Jezebel about the incident, April told them she had gotten an answer... sort of:
‘About a week after that, I found out a friend of mine had a relative that worked for the restaurant! I let him know that something was up with their fb/vm because no business would operate like that. He let me know that a) The person who contacted me was the owners son and b) NOTHING was wrong with any of their systems. They just didn't care.’
April, who went from 315 pounds at her heaviest to 170 pounds as a result of a vegan diet has received no apology for her treatment.
The restaurant has since refused to comment on the case.
