It’s not condoms or the pill!

When it comes to choosing which form of contraception to choose, it’s a tough decision which requires a lot of thinking about.

Considering that the pill plays absolute havoc with our moods, it’s no surprise that many women go back to using condoms when having sex.

While we thought the pill was the most popular and easiest form of contraception to take, it turns out that there’s a totally different form of contraception that is the most popular.

According to Vocativthe most popular form of contraception is actually sterilisation.

In a report carried out by the United Nations, sterilisation was used by 19% of women, followed by an IUD, a small device that is entered into the uterus, which is used by 14% of the world’s women.

After the main two contraceptives, it was found that the birth control pill was used by 9% followed by the male condom by 8%.

Lastly, 6% of the world’s women use withdrawal and 5% of women use contraceptive injections as contraception.
