So what can you expect to find lying in your bed sheets?
Well apparently as well as your half-sleep deprived body rolling around in your bed sheets, you can also find a host of dead skin, bacteria, fungus, mites… oh and fecal matter.
According to Philip Tierno, Ph.D. and the Director of clinical microbiology and immunology at NYU’s Langone Medical Centre, we should be washing our sheets once a week just to ensure the bacteria build-up isn’t wreaking havoc with your skin.
Tierno also warns that the build-up of sweat and skin attracts dust mites, and gives them food to munch on and multiply.

Wash your sheets every week.
