"Every picture you see her face changing," Dede told ABC News.
"Just looking at her, there was not a dry eye in the room. It was so emotional."
She said that Jacee had asked to be present for the birth and that after discussing it, she and her husband Zack agreed.
It was only when the birth itself was happening that Walter Wolfe, the family's obstetrician, invited Jacee to get involved in delivering the baby.
Jacee told her mum shortly after the birth that she now wants to be an obstetrician when she's older.
"If I didn't feel like she wasn't ready to do what she did or be in the room, I wouldn't [have] let her be in the room," added Dede.
"Everybody's just real supportive of her."
