Honestly not surprised.

Are you a crazy cat mum?

Do you spend more time picking out outfits for your dog than for yourself?

Is your rabbit the actual love of your life?

If so, you’ll probably relate to a new study that reveals just how obsessed some of us are with our pets.

Fifteen per cent of people say that they love their pet more than they love their partner.

Yep – in a new survey, 15 per cent of respondents said that their fur babies come first in their hearts.

A third of respondents said that they loved their pet and their partner equally while just one third said that they loved their partner more than their pet.

The survey of 1,254 British adults was carried out as the number of divorcing couples who fight over who gets to keep their fur baby rises.

It also found that one in 20 UK marriages now includes a ‘pet-nup’; a formal agreement over custody in the event of a split in the future.

“Obviously, the emotional attachment to pets can be huge, which is why we see so much upset over who gets to keep them when a couple breaks up,” lawyer James Maguire told Pretty52.

Given the news that it’s scientifically better for women to sleep next to a dog than a man, we’re not one bit surprised pet owners are putting their furry friends ahead of their human other halves.
