Were you at the 1994 Eurovision homecoming?

Anna O'Rourke

The hunt is on.

The nineties was a glorious decade for Eurovision success for the Irish – we won the contest in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1996.

Now one Irish Eurovision winner is searching for a child he was photographed with at the festivities back in the day.

Charlie McGettigan won the 1994 contest with Paul Harrington for their song ‘Rock and Roll Kids’ and was at a homecoming reception in his native Drumshambo, County Leitrim when he was photographed with a local baby.

Twenty-three years on, Charlie has taken to Facebook in an attempt to find the baby in the picture.

Alongside the photo, he wrote:

“Could this be you? this photo was taken the day we came back to Drumshanbo after winning the Eurovision in 1994. I often wondered who the baby was. Could it be you?”

So, readers, do you know the baby in this picture? Were you at the 1994 Eurovision homecoming? Are you the Drumshambo baby? If so, let us know!
