The 3 most expensive college degrees in the world

Megan Roantree

Yikes.

College is expensive. This is an obvious statement but it is something that differs massively depending on the country you’re in.

In Ireland, most undergraduate students attending publicly funded third-level courses don’t have to pay tuition fees. And instead pay contribution fees to the colleges. This is usually around €3000 for an academic year.

While Irish colleges may seem expensive and your third level experience is very much a financial struggle, it is thankfully nothing compared to some schools in other countries.

The United States is known for extortionate college fees leaving most people in debt for years after they graduate.

Business Insider put together a list of the most expensive college courses in the world and, after seeing it, we think we’ll stick to Ireland for our education.

What’s really scary is that the costs listed refer only to tuition fees. So it doesn’t include accommodation or the cost of living in expensive areas.

A Doctor of Medicine degree in Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts will cost you $238,056.

It’s not just medicine that will cost you to study however, as At Bard College in New York you’ll pay $253,520 for a Bachelor of Music.

At the top of the list for the most expensive college fees in the world is much closer to home with UK university, Cambridge. At The University of Cambridge, it’ll cost a jaw-dropping $332,000 for a Doctor of Business degree.

So if you’re interested in any of these course, start saving now and you might be able to afford it when you’re 80. Or just win the lottery.
