Detective Kieran O’Reilly will not face disciplinary action over his role in the fourth series of Love/Hate.
The 35-year-old, who played Garda Ciaran Madden in the RTÉ crime drama, has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
An investigation was launched by senior management following his stint on the show due to the fact that he is a member of the Garda National Drug Unit.
While there will be no further action taken against Kieran, who did get permission to appear in the show, the Irish Independent reports that the Gardaí may bring in regulations preventing officers from appearing in dramas about police activity.
