We all remember our first college romance, how and why it ended. There’s something about moving out of home, meeting new people and experiencing numerous things on your own for the very first time that does some strange things to the heart. Mr. Societies You spotted him handing out information leaflets on your first day of college and you just can't stop 'bumping' into him around campus, (accidentally on purpose). He’s so involved in making college life easier, what a champ. You will sadly fall out of love with him when you realise he is more into his societies than anything else. 2.  The Erasmus Student You found his broken English adorable and loved spending quality time getting to know him over ‘intellectual coffees’… until you realised they were not a thing and Skype calling was no basis for a healthy relationship. 3. The Jock He is on the college sports team and you find his dedication to the cause i.e. The hours he spends working out in gym facilities, admirable. You find yourself reading the pages of the college newspaper to see the sports fixtures and you decide that it is time you too joined the gym. It isn’t long before you get fed up, as his nights out are curtailed and the drinking ban kicks in. 4. The Guy On The Train The commute to college is that little bit easier because you’ve made a connection with a guy on the train. When we say connection, we really mean eye contact. Simple, basic, no physical, eye contact, purely because you are too terrified to actually approach him and have a real conversation. Instead you settled for the exchange of pleasantries, and don’t forget that one day you actually sat next to each other… Fate! There isn’t a person in college that doesn’t know his face and everyone wants to be friends with them, others, you included, want to be a little more than just friends. You will eventually take off your rose tinted glasses and come to terms with the fact that you’re not comfortable sharing him with everyone else. 8. The Neighbour You’ve settled in nicely to your new home and you’re settling in even better at the house next door… Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours, with a little understanding you can find the perfect blend. Neighbours, should be there for one another, that's when good neighbours become good friends. Very good friends, until you move.
