We’ve just gotten paid, we’ve paid the bills, done the necessary grocery shopping and all that’s left is a little treat ‘pour moi’.

It’s all you’ve ever dreamed of, that staple piece that will go with absolutely everything in your wardrobe (not really, but you adore it so much you’re going to wear it with everything anyway) and you’ll have it forever more.
2. Gasping at the Price Tag

Suddenly, there’s not enough oxygen in the room. Your heart begins to beat faster, your jaw is nearly on the floor and you can feel your body temperature warming. The feeling of impending doom has arrived. EEEK!!
3. Coming to Terms
‘Not today,’ we say. We accept that this day is not the day we get to purchase the ensemble of our dreams. We walk away broken hearted, defeated, alone, and cold.

4. Moseying Some More
We continue walking about our business that is window shopping. Although we continue to see nice bits and bobs to go with an array of pieces we already have at home, nothing compares to THAT stylish, beautiful, bespoke and marvellous piece.

We begin to overthink, our brain gets muddled – No. Longer. Functioning.

6. I’m SO poor and life is shit
And here it comes, the self-pity and loathing, the ‘Why am I not made of money?’ ‘Why do I have bills to pay, and mouths to feed?’ (Namely your our mouth.) ‘Why do I need to do my own washing and clean my own rented abode?’ ‘The world is out to get me’ attitude takes over and we begin to feel a more sour taste than before.

After falling to the lowest depths of despair, you come to the conclusion that in fact, you really need to treat yourself. You work SO hard, you are entirely worthy of that BEAUTY you saw an hour ago, and yep – you’re running back!
8. Purchase Complete

The barcode is scanned, that grinning shop assistant has your goods in the bag, and you have just handed over a mound of dosh.
